The first voice form
Claro Ecuador · 2019
Fill out a form by speaking and send your answers to the CRM.
- Speak answers
- Transcribe speech
- Update CRM
The problem
A mobile carrier’s prospecting flow was the industry standard: digital campaign (Google, Meta, LinkedIn), then a landing page with a text form, then the data went to the call center.
But by 2019, users were completely used to voice notes: sending and receiving audio felt more natural than typing. Even so, the whole industry kept making them fill in text forms on phone screens.
What we built
We created the first form filled in entirely by voice. The user only had to let the browser turn on the microphone and then answered every question by speaking. The system used Google Speech-to-Text to turn the answers into structured data that fed the CRM.
We used an existing API to solve a conversion problem nobody was tackling, in the perfect context: a mobile carrier selling data plans to users who were already on their phones.
The result
The first documented voice form for lead generation in Latin America, with a significant improvement in mobile form completion rates.
Why it’s innovation
In 2019, voice forms for lead generation barely existed in Latin America. We read how users really behaved (people lived in voice notes) and applied it to a process nobody had questioned.
